Don’t think the truck had even been delivered, this will get dealt with before they even receive it. Up to manufacturer what happens, might get a new engine, might get torn down and inspected. Tbd

The noise was significantly quite after oil and filter change. But, yes there was a definite noise still. No doubt the damage done will just get worse and worse.

2013 malibu 2.w/e ecotec. Vvt solenoids. Screens completely clogged with guide material
50k miles well maintained front guide broke spun the upper bolt out and deposited it nicely on top of the balance chain tensioner upper guide was shredded and placed between the intake cam gear and the valve cover and i assume dispersed very evenly in all the bearing surfaces
Funny thing is i had another one apart this morning with the same guide broken and a cracked head at 67k miles

Vehicle came in with customer stating they believe there’s a tracking device on their car. I didn’t think there was one until I found this bad boy under the vehicle ontop of the spare tire. I couldn’t believe it. The back story is this customer was going through a divorce and the (ex)wife was keeping tabs on him. Never did find out if the tracker led to the divorce or was an after the fact act. Either way we found it.

Every now and then we see a ray of sunshine in amongst these posts, and that SLR Stirling Moss is just excellent.
